"Float Upstream" I'm Only Sleeping -- The Beatles

Enter the technology rich 1990's with the four familiar faces you've been hanging with for the last three decades. Within this decade and the 2000's, you will be able to recognize more new versions of  the golden Beatles songs. You wil also happen to see less greatest hits, as you once have in the 1970's and the 1980's. The Beatles Past Masters Volome 2 is the second set of songs that was released from the British catalog. This album was brought out to the public for the first time in 1988, and it's newly released songs once again cpatured the Beatles in the spotlight. OVERALL RATING ++++1/2 out of +++++

The Beatles Live At The BBC had material that was released for the first time in 1994. This double album takes a superb look at the lifestyle of this band, who many recognized as the "Fab Four." This double album takes a look at a few goofs on the Beatles part, and their works on developing early songs such as Ticket To Ride. OVERALL RATING: +++++ out of +++++

The Beatles Anthology 1 was released for the first time in 1995. This double album presents two new songs titled: Free As A Bird and The Shiek Of Araby. This album also reflects more on the Beatles early career with a little humor and some goofy outtakes that many cherish with a laugh. OVERALL RATING: +++++ out of +++++

The Beatles Anthology 2 takes a closer look at the rise of their career as a super group. This double album was released in 1995, and gives many a little more of an emphasis on what was going on through the Beatles minds during this time, and releases the song Real Love. Time magazine was quoted calling it "Tonic for the soul." OVERALL RATING: +++++ out of +++++

The Beatles Anthology 3 came out  in 1996, as the final project of the double anthologys. This album reflects the closing times of a leagendary band. It presents what many refer to as a new song, but it's more like an instrumental called A Beginning. One can easily recognize the reflections from the albums Abbey Road, and Let It Be, along with the Beatles study with the Maharishi. OVERALL RATING: +++++ out of +++++ 

 

The Beatles Yellow Submarine (Songtrack) was released in 1999, and was basically seen as a remake of the original Yellow Submarine in 1969 (SEE REVOLVER). This album does not include the George Martin tracks suchs as the March Of The Meanies, Pepperland, etc. All of those instrumentals were replaced with other hits of the time such as Baby You're A Rich Man. OVERALL RATING: ++++1/2 out of +++++

 

The Beatles #1 was released in 2000 and has all twenty-seven of the Beatles hits that had peaked to No. 1 in the charts. This album is a great one to start any beatles collection. OVERALL RATING: +++++ out of +++++

 

 

 

Let It Be...Naked came out in 2003 as a redevelopment of the Let It Be album that had come out in 1970. This album has the same tracks with the exception of Maggie Mae, and Dig It being taken off, and Don't Let Me Down being added from the Hey Jude album. This album is a replication of how the songs actually sounded in the studio during the time, and without the editations that phil Spector had made in the previous Let It Be. Included with this album is a bonus disc titled 'Fly On The Wall,' which consists of the beatles coming back after break to do some jam sessions and what not. OVERALL RATING: +++++ out of +++++
