This young fella never knew what was going to happen to him when he was this young. The fact is that John Lennon was a child who grew up raising a band behind him, and he created a band that was a really big act.

This is Mr. Lennon in the late 1950's, when he had the band called the Quarry Men. Paul and George had joined, but Ringo hadn't, and the Beatle style of music along with their compressed looks and mop tops were not quite formed yet.

1964 was the year after the Kennedy assassination, the Cold War was at a climax, and the Beatles had released the albums of "A Hard Day's Night" and "Beatles For Sale". Within these albums John Lennon (Pictured here playing a Gretch guitar) lead the Beatles up the charts to having three number 1 hits off their two albums produced that year.

John Lennon is seen here in 1968 with his guitar playing some of his last music with the group that everyone would recall as the Beatles. Though many thoughts of war and peace have passed through his mind, and McCartney along with the rest of the group are experiencing financial battles, the Beatles had shown their last signs signing together with long hair and beards.

Throughout the end of the Beatles singing career together, and the beginning of John Lennon's solo career, he and his wife Yoko Ono, performed what they had called 'bed in for peace.' Lennon and his wife were trying to send a message to the world to grow your hair long, stay in bed to support the peace effort towards the war.

The candles and peace signs held by hand represent the many to honor a music legend. John Lennon had been assassinated by Mark David Chapman on December 8th 1980 outside of his New York City apartment called "The Drake." Many had mourned his loss in different ways. His wife Yoko Ono was known for saying that he was a mind man to anyone in the world, and was willing to help anyone. With that said John Lennon had gone out this world with the reflection of the word peace lined up next to his name.
